Valentine Ozigbo, a 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Candidate, was in Awkii Village, Ezira, in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State on Friday, April 28, 2023, to sympathize with the family of late Mrs Roselyn Onyehureke Nwankwo, who was laid to rest.

The late Mrs Nwankwo was the mother to Father Ben Nwankwo, a respected clergyman and Mr Ozigbo’s close acquaintance.

While speaking at the funeral ceremony, Mr Ozigbo described the late octogenarian as an “exemplary mother,” eulogizing her for living a life worthy of emulation.

“I commiserate with the Nwankwo family, especially Father Ben, on the demise of his mother and a worthy matriarch, Mrs Roselyn Nwankwo,” Ozigbo remarked.

“Losing a symbolic figure like a mother is practically inconsolable, and I pray that the Lord grants the bereaved the strength to bear this loss.

“I pray for a peaceful repose of her soul and urge those she left behind to continue to carry on her legacy of selfless love, service and godliness,” Ozigbo, an inspirational leader and respected business executive, added.

Several notable personalities attended the funeral ceremony, including His Excellency Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate and two-time Governor of Anambra State, who was represented by Dr. Patrick Obi, Dr. Chike Ohamobi, both of whom were his former commissioners, and Mr Tai Obasi, a long-time supporter and Convener of POEM.

Mr Valentine Ozigbo was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Ojiugo Ozigbo, and other political leaders, including Chief Afam Okpalauzuegbu, a political stalwart in Aguata LGA.
