…Says Asue Ighodalo is Securing the best future for Edo

The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Osa Nehikhare at the Flag-Off Campaign of the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Bar Asue Ighodalo in Benin City today said voting Asue Ighodalo will be the key to securing the best future for Edo State. He also added that the the party, People Democratic Party (PDP) represents justice, equity, and progress.

Addressing the massive crowd of party supporters , Mr. Nehikhare said they were there because they believe in a vision for Edo that prioritizes the needs of its communities, a vision that puts Edo people first. He said the Party’s candidate embodies this vision—a leader who listens, who understands the challenges we face, and who is dedicated to transforming those challenges into opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Speaking further, Mr. Nehikhare said the State may not be where it wants to be, but it certainly is not where it used to be. He said Edo of today is immeasurably stronger than the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration met it.

In the area of Education, Mr. Nehikhare said Edo state has become the beautiful bride and that EdoBest, launched in 2017 to revitalize the state basic education sector, was designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning in primary and junior secondary schools in our state and has been a resounding success.

In the Health Sector, Nehikhare said the Edo State Primary Heath Care (PHC) plays a critical role in providing essential health care services to the populace. He said the state government created a network of primary health facilities that serve as first point of contact for healthcare services for majority of Edo people. One of the facilities according to him, include neighbourhood clinics manned by qualified doctors, midwives, nurses and other medical personnel located in all 192 wards across the state.

In addition, he said the state government has completely rebuilt and equipped the Stella Obasanjo hospital while also upgrading the Genera hospital in Auchi to a teaching hospital.

Mr. Nehikhare said the PDP government in Edo State has significantly improved the State infrastructure, reversing years of neglect. He said the government of governor Obaseki has prioritized the development and renovation of state facilities, demonstrating purposeful leadership.

He enumerated some of these notable projects as follow:  Construction of over 900 kilometres of road, John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy, Edo Innovation Hub, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Education Hub, Secretariat Complex, Edo Tech Park, Edo Production Centre, Emotan Gardens, Golf Mems, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, The Benin City Mall, the Central Bus Park, Edo State College of Nursing Sciences, College Of Agriculture Iguoraikhi, laying of over 3000 km of fibre optics connecting the 18 local government area across the state as well offering free WiFi services in several areas across our cities.

Stating that these are a few of the architectural master pieces that characterise the Obaseki government, he said Barr. Asue Ighodalo, will do more. He said the PDP and AI will ensure that our youth are empowered to succeed, and that our farmers and entrepreneurs receive the support that they need to thrive.

Concluding, Mr Nehikhare said they cannot do this alone and that our strength lies in our unity. He said as supporters of the PDP and Edo Citizens, they must rally together, spread their message, and inspire their friends, families, and neighbours to join in this movement.

He emphasized that their opponents have teamed up and are now together to deprive Edo state and its citizens quality leadership. He said the APC with its mute candidate has recruited LP’s garrulous candidate who he said is certainly not ready for the role he pretends he seeks.

To the young people of Edo, he said they are the heartbeat of this campaign. He said their energy and passion are vital to the PDP success and urged them to take an active role, advocate for Bar Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, and show the world that the Youth demand a future that reflects their aspirations.
