A total on Nine (9) teams have registered to participate in the maiden NCF Indoor Cricket Super-Six scheduled to hold on the Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of November 2025 at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Among the teams that have signed up to participate include the Northern Cosmopolitan Cricket, Cricket Club of Abuja (CCA) Tigers, Pakistan Embassy Eagles, IK United, Peshawar Zalmi, Millennium Gladiators, Millennium Strikers, Pakistan Shaheens and Millennium Hunters
In the Draws that was done yesterday at the NCF Cricket Oval, Pitch 1, the Cricket Club of Abuja (CCA) Tigers, Pakistan Embassy Eagles, Millennium Hunters and Millennium Gladiators were balloted for Group A while the Northern Cosmopolitan Cricket, IK United, Peshawar Zalmi, Millennium Strikers and Pakistan Shaheens are in Group B.
All the captains and Teams present during the Draws also ratified and agreed to the competition rules for the Modified Games with high expectations of winning either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Position Trophies. Apart from the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, there are also the Awards for the Best Batter, Best Fielder, Best Bowler and Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The captains also used the opportunity to inspect the Indoor Sports Hall with eyes on the spots to target and hit the White Taped balls.
The event which is anchored by the NCF Secretariat has already generated interest as players and teams that subscribed are all geared to making the event a wonderful one.
Individual and corporate sponsors are also willing to show their presence as the winners of the Maiden edition is already assured of free Tickets to the Water Park, courtesy of the Sunrise WaterPark.
Modified Games are among the competitions recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the ICC Scorecard, hence, why Nigeria Cricket Federation is backing the trend especially the Indoor Cricket which is going to unveil games played with the lights even into the night.
Other States and Cricket Associations across the nation are following up on ways to emulate the Indoor Cricket Strategies and have as many games as possible in Nigeria especially now the Federation has raised the bar of the development and domestic cricket activities for all gender.
The General Manager of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Emeka Igwilo, is positive that the soft ball game will unfold many other Modified Games and activities for the 2026 NCF Calendar.
