Chinese National Staff of ABSA Mining Company Collapses and Dies at Quarry Site

A Chinese national working with ASBA Mining Company Group has died after collapsing at a quarry site in Wasa village.

The incident was reported to the Kabusa Division at about 2:56 p.m. on Monday by Mohammed Abdulkareem, a staff member of the company.

Abdulkareem told the police that the victim, identified as Cao Chunri, 53, slumped at the company’s premises at about 2 p.m. on Sunday. He was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, where he was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Upon receipt of the report, detectives visited the hospital and photographed the remains. The quarry site was also visited for further assessment.

Sources said the corpse has been deposited at the FMC Jabi mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death has commenced at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). (Credit, except Headline: Zagazola)
