Mini FC of Minibie at the Sangana centre beat Tough Dynamite FC 4-2 on penalties after a one-all draw in regulation time to become the first team to qualify for the round of 32 in Season 8 of the competition.
En-route to qualifying for the Round of 32, Mini FC pipped resilient Orukele Thunders FC by a lone goal courtesy of Wisdom Elliot’s 31st minute strike. In their second match, Mini FC humbled Sangana FC by four goals to two.
And at the Opu Nembe centre in Nembe Local Government Area, Jackson Idubomo’s first half brace helped Mangrove FC reach the next round of the competition.
Mangrove FC humbled Fantua FC by three goals to nil to qualify for the next round of the showpiece. Jackson Idubomo put Mangrove FC ahead just five minutes into the game from a beautiful finish.
Idubomo added another goal on 35 minutes to increase his goal tally in the tournament having scored in their opening fixture. Godgift Ebite made it three nil just before the final whistle for Mini FC to advance to the next round.
Formosa FC at the Okpoama centre beat Egweama FC three nil to secure qualification to the next round of the tournament, having whitewashed Agbalakoko FC in their previous fixture.
Magic Champions (MC) FC at the Nembe City centre edged out Genesis FC by three goals to one. Innocent Suku put Genesis FC in front on 68 minutes after the scores remained goal-less at halftime. Peter Oyambo responded with a stunner a minute later to level the scoreline. Oyambo and Lawrence Erickson scored on 80 and 90th minute respectively to define the tie.
The Prosperity Cup train will now move to Ogbia LGA this weekend with Brass and Nembe LGA winding up.
