Diepreye Bouy of Ayamasa City FC has emerged the highest goal scorer, netting a whopping five goals in a single match in his team’s seven nil drubbing of Ezougha FC in Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup.
Ayamasa City demolished Ezougha FC seven nil at the Ayamasa centre to make a statement of intent in the tournament. Alex Tarila opened the harvest of goals ten minutes into the game. Abonty Okidi scored on 23 minutes as Diepreye Bous netted five goals on 18′, 30′, 45, 55′ and 61′ to complete the massacre.
Ayamasa City will now face former champions Krusaders FC, who earlier defeated Samba Boys of Ekeremor 4-3 on penalties after a barren draw in regulation time, with the final match at the Ayamasa centre coming up on Tuesday, 24th March, 2026.
Block 6 FC at the Amassoma Centre 2 edged out Niger Delta University Medical Students, NDU MSA FC by two goals to one. Goals from Moses Godmade and Ben Palimote on 9 and 80 minutes gave Block 6 FC the deserved victory. Oghenerovkwe Triumph of NDU MSA FC scored a consolatory goal but it was not enough to turn the game around.
In the second game at the Amassoma centre 2, Family FC beat Mech 24 FC by two goals to one. Kondor Ebiabowei put Family FC in front on 60 minutes from a fine finish. Inuodutor Uzom levelled the scoreline on 51 minutes. Kondor Godspower on 70 minutes made it 2-1 to push Family FC into the next phase of the competition.
High Chief Pere-ere FC at the Oporoma centre smashed Acobiri FC two nil. Richard Ebiwari put High Chief Pere-ere FC ahead five minutes into the game from a beautiful volley. Tobo Zizuo added another on 63 minutes to seal the victory for eHigh Chief Pere-ere FC.
Young Youth FC in the second game humbled Youngest FC by two goals to nil. Goals from Kofi Peremobowei and Gbiagbia on 47 and 70 minutes gave Young Youth FC a comfortable victory.
Ipiriama FC playing at the Eniwari centre crushed Pere United by three goals to one while Eniwari FC pipped Jalation FC by a lone goal to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
Earlier, Polobubou FC at the Eniwari centre pipped Water Angels by a lone goal while Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe triumphed three nil over Dolphins FC to secure qualification to the next round of the competition.
Elsewhere at the Agge centre, Osunmaibio beat Bisangbene one nil while Oburu FC scaled through to the next round 5-4 on penalties after a one-all draw after regulation time at the Peretorugbene centre in Ekeremor LGA
The Prosperity Cup train will move to Yenagoa LGA on Monday, 23rd March in eight different centres.
