Amb. Igali leads PANDEF Exco, BOT Members to Funeral of King Dandeson Douglas Jaja of Opobo

The National Chairman of Pan Niger Delta Congress (PANDEF), Ambassador Godknows Igali led the National Executive Committee, Members of Board of Trustees, and other members of PANDEF to attend the funeral service of the late monarch of Opobo, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V who passed unto glory recently at the Anglican Church in Opobo ancestral town.

It will be recalled that PANDEF had visited the Opobo kingdom earlier this year for condolences over the demise of the monarch who was a member of BOT of PANDEF.

The last PANDEF event the monarch attended was the church outing service of the late National Leader of PANDEF, Chief Dr. E.K Clark, which took place last year in Kiagbodo Town in Delta state.

The late monarch was described by associates as one of the kings who was at every event that was capable of promoting the Niger Delta Region. He attended every meeting of PANDEF held in Abuja, the monarch was always there because of his love for the region.

“We recall that he was amongst the PANDEF delegation that visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in 2024 to press for the development of the Niger Delta Region on the 8 point demand PANDEF presented to Mr .President.

The 8 Point Demand included, Development of Deep-Sea Ports, Strengthening Regional Security, Revisiting the Bakassi Peninsula Displacement, Assent to the South-South Development Commission Bill, Presidential Intervention in Rivers State Crisis, Infrastructure Development, & Federal Government Accountability, stated the PANDEF National Publicity Secretary, Chief Obiuwevbi Ominimini in a press statement today, April 12, 2026.

The Pandef National Chairman, Amb Godknows Igali noted the prominent roles played by the late monarch at different times even when he was the Chairman of Rivers Council of traditional Rulers and Chancellor of the University of Jos and concluded that the late Amayanabo, King Jaja came, saw and conquered. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
