Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have intensified operations across various Local Government Areas of Plateau State, rescuing two kidnapped victims and disrupting the activities of suspected terrorists.
The ongoing operations are part of deliberate efforts by the Joint Task Force to deny terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action across the state and restore peace and security to affected communities.
In Bassa Local Government Area, troops of Sector 3, acting on credible intelligence regarding the kidnap of Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo, launched a search-and-rescue operation at about 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2025. The operation resulted in the successful rescue of the victim.
Similarly, in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, 2026, troops of Sector 2 deployed at Kukawa village in Kanam Local Government Area encountered suspected terrorist elements during a fighting patrol.
The troops aggressively pursued the fleeing suspects, forcing them to abandon a kidnapped victim, identified as Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, who was subsequently rescued by the soldiers.
The two rescued victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.
The Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism, determination and decisive posture in disrupting criminal activities across the Joint Operations Area.
Dangana also appealed to residents to remain calm and vigilant while urging continued support and cooperation with the security forces to enable them effectively discharge their mandate of restoring enduring peace in Plateau State.
The operation, according to the Joint Task Force, remains focused on sustaining pressure against terrorists and other criminal elements while creating a safer environment for residents across the state.
