Food Security: Obaseki To Flag-Off Distribution Of Agric Inputs To Farmers

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, will on Thursday, September 23, 2021flag-off the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers as part of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programnme (CARES).

In a statement, Coordinator, Nigeria Cares, Edo State Programme Office, Ifueko Alufohai, said the distribution of the inputs to farmers under the CARES Programme is aimed at increasing food security and safe functioning of food supply chains for poor households.

She said, “The Nigeria CARES Programme is a state-level intervention that seeks to mitigate the local effects of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, by protecting the livelihoods of existing and newly poor and vulnerable households, and supporting the recovery of local economic activity.”

According to her, Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki will flag-off the exercise on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Umuegbe Community, after Ulemon, along Airport Road, Ward 2, Oredo Local Government Area of the state.
