PROSPERITY CUP: ORGANISERS HOLD REFRESHER COURSE FOR CENTRE COORDINATORS

Organisers of the Bayelsa Governor Football Tournament, has organised a refresher workshop for all the Coordinators that will man the twenty centres throughout the tournament.

The Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, is the fourth in the series and the first in the Governor Douye Diri led adminstration, and promises to be more exciting, interesting and fulfilling.

The workshop put together by the Technical sub committee, was aimed at equipping them with the pros and cons of the game, and also to help the coordinators carry out their tasks successfully, which include managing the affairs of the centres and also identifying young and talented players.

Director of Sports, Sir Braveman Wodi, who is the Head of the Technical department, and Secretary, State Football Association, Mr Diseye Nwankwe, were the resource persons, and was assisted by his deputy, Sunny Nehru, at the refresher course which lasted for almost two hours on Tuesday, at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, in Yenagoa.

They equally trained the coordinators on modern football knowledge, rules trends of the game.

At the end of the workshop, the Director General, Mr Ono Akpe, urged them to ensure the knowledge gained was out to use, and ensure that the aim of organising a hitch free competition, is achieved.

Mr. Ono equally charged all communities hosting the games to work hand in gloves with the coordinators, and ensure that violent conduct and other forms of irregularities that might disrupt the games.

Coordinators for the various centers include Mr Barigha O for Nembe City, Mr. Pereowei for Okoroma/Tereke center, Hon. Karika for Twon/ Brass/ Okpoma center, Mr Raphael for Akassa center, Mr Pius Ziprebo for Oporoma center, Mr Walter for Azuzuma center, while Chief T. Whyte will man Agalabiri center.

At the Amassoma center, Coach Ada Gwegwe will be in charge, Sele will coordinate Isampou center, Agge Centre will coordinated by Agekeme Joe, BDGS Center will have Mark Emmanuel in charge, Anthony Blessing will coordinate Opolo center, while Mr. Diseye Nwankwe will man Tombia Centre.

Others are Gbasa David for Okodia/Zarama Center, Mr Orukari for Otuokpoti center, Benson Simon for Otuasega center, Mr Akpofini Odogu for
Sagbama centre, Law Alabrah for Ebedebiri center, Anna Edike for Kaiama center, while at the Odi center will have Ebiowei Ogbise.
