Is it not laughable that what they could not achieve through the onshore and offshore dichotomy is systematically being achieved through the calculated attempt to silence the voice of southern minority in the day to day administration of resources from the Niger Delta Region?” Sanco Ese.

“Is it not laughable that in a bid to divert revenues accruing to the Niger Delta Region, President Muhammadu Buhari has also deliberately refused to constitute the Niger Delta Development Commission?

For the last 7 years, I have written and spoken out against the atrocities and the hegemony that the people of Niger Delta have suffered in the hands of our collective oppressors under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

My opposition to the President Buhari’s nepotistic government for the last five years has been as constant as the Northern star and I intend to make it even stronger as it can ever be.

Let me bring to the knowledge of Nigerians the composition of the newly formed NNPC Ltd; the status of our joint patrimony as at today after it became a Limited Company. Take a closer look at the names and geographical spread of Directors and pass your comment on whether the new status is fair, just and equitable. The South West has only 1 person on the Board, South East has 2 and South South (owners of the Petroleum) has 1. The remaining 7 comes from the North and the Company Secretary is also from the North. This is ratio 4:8. Remember, the people of south south produce the oil in question. I leave the rest for you all to be the judge!

As far as Buhari is concerned, no southerner is competent enough or can be trusted enough to hold any sensitive position. As far as Buhari is concerned the people of Southern Nigeria are accursed slaves who should continue to live within the dictate and disposition of the northern hegemonist.

Is it not laughable that members of this lopsided appointment are going to supervise the oil that flow from the Niger Delta Region?

Is it not obvious that there is a deliberate attempt to render us incapacitated and voiceless on how our common patrimony is used for the benefit of our people?

It is time for us as a people to either play the fool, pretend this injustice and marginalisation does not exist and keep our mouth shut or, we play the men, recognize it for what it is and resist this political, administrative and economic domination being foisted on us by forces of darkness.

Our leaders are keeping silent in the face of this nauseating intimidation for reasons best known to them.

It is critical to note at this juncture that what lies ahead for us as a people, is frightful and chilling because, the extremists and hardliners in the Federal Government are now in full control with no-one to moderate, restrain or put them in check. This is a major challenge which needs to be taken very seriously by all well meaning sons and daughters from the Niger Delta Region. Enough is enough! We must adhere to the principle of federal character in all we do or, we part ways through a peaceful referendum.

I call on the federal government to revisit this vexatious issue of lopsided appointments into the newly constituted NNPC Board with a view of righting the injustice currently meted on the people of south south, through the contentious appointment into the newly constituted Board of NNPC LTD.

I will continue to speak up for the weak, the poor, the oppressed, the deprived, the voiceless and the persecuted across ethnic, religious and party lines. And, I will continue to do all this right under the noses of those in power believing that all powers belong to God.

I will continue to speak, regardless of the disposition of the government and the forces of darkness towards me.

I will continue to hold on to my views and express them as just and equitable as possible, in line with my conviction.

It is time for our people to stand up for what is right, it is time to free ourselves from the vestiges of internal colonialism.

I owe myself, my God and my nation that much if nothing else. I wish you well. God bless!
