…Says S’ West Govs Responsible For Inclusion Of Unscrupulous Politicians In NWC
A National Secretaryship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress and an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Ife Oyedele, has written to congratulate him.
Oyedele In a letter sighted by Crossfire Reports tried to explain how President Buhari’s candidates and preferences in the National Working Committee, NWC, and National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Party which featured astute and competent persons of integrity, including him were traded off by some politicians during the just concluded national convention.
In a veiled reference to the statement by Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka accusing President Buhari of allowing a former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, a ‘prime suspect’ in the APC NWC despite the alleged murder of late Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Ajibola Ige still unresolved.
Oyedele in his letter though did not mention any name seems to be referring to how the south west governors and a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the last minutes horse trading forced the candidature of Omisore on President Buhari.
He was however optimistic that in spite of the horse trading and other intrigues that characterize the convention, the APC according to him will continue to record success in subsequent elections.
The Ondo born politician who did not mention any name was referring to how the APC governors, especially from the south west removed the names of Buhari’s preferred candidates and replaced it with their own in the now famous ‘Unity list’.
