The senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe, has floated a new political movement.

Oloriegbe, who defeated former Senate President, Abubakar Saraki in the 2019 election, had recently scored the least votes amongst the three All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants that partipated in the party’s senatorial primary, prompting disaffection in his political camp.

A philanthropist and Turaki of Ilorin, Saliu Mustapha scored 136 votes to emerge the winner of the senatorial shadow election.

But in a post on his Twitter handle on Sunday, Oloriegbe said he has launched a political movement to ensure good governance in the senatorial district.

The senator said he also used the event to empower some of his constituents.

His words : “Yesterday, 625 members of my constituency benefitted 450 million Naira worth of working tools at my empowerment program. The 8th of its kind since my assumption of office as the senator representing the people of Kwara Central at the National Assembly.

” I also used the event to launch a political movement -DIYO 4 GG (Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe for Good Governance). The movement whose membership strengths cut across the 52 electoral wards of Kwara Central is formed with the mission to promote good governance, accountability. ”
