The royal rumbles rocking the once peaceful and loving people of Ayetoro community has continued unabated without any hope of a harmonious resolution in sight.

Ayetoro community, a theocratic land coined by their forebearers as “Happy City” had defiled all entreaties to forestall the ongoing royal brawl that arrested the city to standstill leaving the community with the possibility of a ruinous end coupled with the devastating ocean surge bedeviling the community for more than two decades.

Leadership is key to the sustainability of any community if development must thrive. Ayetoro a community that occupies parts of the riverine area in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State was founded in 1947 with the installation of the first Ogeloyinbo, Oba Peter Ojagbohunmi, who reigned from 1949 to 1953 as the Ogeloyinbo and spiritual head of the Holy Apostles Church and had since then been ruled by Christians with all her inhabitants being members of the Holy Apostle Church.

Ayetoro, today has been battling with serious internal crisis as civilization being a necessary evil has brought varying interests into its leadership, a situation which made it difficult for the people to have a spiritual cum traditional head for many years.

Ayetoro was a peaceful city until 2015 when the stool of Ogeleyinbo, the traditional and spiritual head of the town was vacant after the demise of Oba Gad Asogbon on February 13, 2015, leading to the closure of the only church in the community, Holy Apostles Church, since 2016. Different people began to show interest against the practice of selecting the traditional head through spiritual directive. Five persons had ruled the town at different times and they were all members of the Holy Apostle Church, the only one denominational church in the town until Ajijio was appointed.

As a youth leader of the community, one Mr. Ojalatan Seyi Samuel, who is armed with facts has it that the appointment of Oba Micah Olaseni Ajijo painstakingly followed due process in accordance with the church’s age-long tradition and the constitution of the Holy Apostles Church, Ayetoro.

Mr. Ojalatan said that the allegation that Ajijo was imposed on Aiyetoro community and the church is, false, malicious and a deliberate misinformation to cause mayhem to the city.

Savannah News gathered that his resolve to peacefully resist any attempt by Prophet Ojagbohunmi and his group to usurp the Ogeloyinbo throne through “religious fanaticism was however met with war.

Unleashing terrors on the land, Mr. Ojalatan was not spared by the thugs hired by the side that wanted to get power through the back door. His house and property are among hundreds of houses burned and destroyed in Ayetoro Community even with threat on his life.

According to the youths Chairman, the hidden truth must be told that the entire opposition to the appointment of His Spiritual Majesty, Oba Micah Olaseni Ajijo, which has been installed in Aiyetoro community till date has the obvious undercurrent of the failed vaulting ambition of Mr. Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi to ascend the hallowed throne of the Ogeloyinbo of Aiyetoro and Spiritual Health of the church.

Until now, Mr. Ojalatan is wriggling in the pain of standing for the truth with members of his family taking asylum in various part of the country outside Ondo State for the safety of their lives.

Savannah News also learned that Mr Ojalatan’s wife, children and aged mother are scattered all over different local government and up till now they are not yet to be found and now a point of target to them. Opposition group are searching for his whereabout that anywhere his found, he should be captured either dead or alive.
