…As Agwana, Isowo, Return As State Chairman, Secretary
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo today participated in the Bayelsa State PDP Congress at Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa.
Gov. Diri appreciated the national PDP officials, state stakeholders and delegates for the smooth conduct of the congress.
He emphasized the need for continuous peace and love in the party.
“Today, we now have a brand-new state executive committee. We give the glory back to God Almighty who has piloted the affairs of the party in the state.
Here in Bayelsa State, our party has done so well. And from the beginning of this dispensation up until now, there is no break in transmission. Our party has always been victorious and has held the reins of power since 1999.
Our party has given good governance in Bayelsa State. And that won’t have been possible without the support of members of this party. I appreciate the national officials, stakeholders and delegates for the conduct of a seamless congress. The party membership have been loyal and committed to the growth and development of our party.
All our party officials who have served us very well have been returned and I know they are not going to disappoint us. That is the peace and love we enjoy in the party and in this state,”~Gov. Diri stated.
The state congress saw the emergence of Chief Solomon Agwana and Mr. Gesiye Isowo returned as Chairman and Secretary for a second term.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Chief Agwana thanked the governor and delegates of the party for the privilege to serve the party for a second term. He assured the governor, stakeholders and delegates of their continued loyalty and commitment to the growth of the party.
Dignitaries at the state congress includes; immediate past deputy governor, Rear Admiral Gborigboha John Jonah, former acting governor, Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, Senator Benson Agadaga, Senator Konbowei Benson, Hon. Mitema Obordor, Hon. Marie Ebikake, Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei, Hon. Woyengikuro Daniel, National Financial Secretary of PDP, Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere and other members of the assembly, senior party officials, and other top government functionaries.
