It was a goal feast for the young Bayelsa Starlet on Friday in a friendly encounter as they whitewashed Movers FC 7-2 at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The Prosperity Lads who are intensifying preparations ahead of the SPOCS Scouting Tournament in Ikenne, Ogun state and the Africa Youth Cup in Cape Verde started the game on the front foot from the blast of the whistle as they pegged there opponent from Swali Community back.

The early pressure eventually paid off after Joshua Ayanka opened the scoring for the starlets with a superb free kick from 25yards to give his side a 1-0 lead

With bayelsa Starlet dictating and controlling the game after taking the lead, a defensive mix up at the back saw Movers FC draw level in the 35th minutes. Despite the equalizer from Movers FC, the prosperity lads continued to assert themselves in the game and duly went in front again through Anthony Moses who scored after a rebound from Movers FC goalkeeper as the first half ended 2-1 in favour of the Prosperity Lads.

At the resumption of the second half, Movers FC of swali fought had for an equalizer but all of there efforts at a come back were ended after a brace from Benjamin Precious and Igbongidi with substitute Amadi Chinedu adding a seventh to make sure the match ended 7-2 in favour of the Bayelsa Starlet at full time.

Since it’s formation after the just concluded Bayelsa Governors Cup, Bayelsa Starlets have continued to get and enjoy full Support from the governor of the state Sen. Douye Diri, his deputy Sen. Lawrence Ewhrujakpo and the honourable commissioner for Youth and Sports, Daniel Igali as they prepare for the Africa Youth Cup in Cape Verde , The Spocs tournament at Remo International Staduim Ikenne among other tournaments within and outside the state.
