Boss Mustapha, Diri, Wali, Mohammed, Others Confirm Attendance At DAILY ASSET Awards

Grand Event Holds Feb. 25 at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja

Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, has confirmed his participation at the 4th DAILY ASSET Annual awards and Lecture holding February 25, in Abuja the nation’s capital.

The grand event according to the management of Asset Newspapers Ltd (Publishers of DAILY ASSET), will hold at the Conference Hall of NICON Luxury Hotel, in the Central Business District, Abuja.

The theme of this year’s event is “Conflict Management, Peace Building and Development in a Democratic Setting”.

In a letter dated February 12, by a Director in his office, the SGF said he was appreciative of his choice by the Editorial Board as “DAILY ASSET Man of the year 2020 in recognition of the effective leadership he has provided to the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, which has led to the development of a workable strategy for the containment and management of the pandemic”.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri who was chosen by the Editorial Board as Politician of the year said he was appreciative of the Newspaper for acknowledging his efforts to mobilise all the segments of Bayelsa people towards rapid development of the state since assumption of office.

In another letter, the Sole Administrator of Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd, Engr Sumaila Abdul-Akaba also accepted his choice as CEO of the Year and said he would personally attend the event.

“I am humbled to be so noticed and recognized for this award by your esteemed and respected Newspaper. Let me say with all sense of humility that this award has come to me as a surprise because the effort of pushing the Ajaokuta Steel Dream forward has remained a collective one by all the workers of the company,” the Sole Administrator said in his letter of acceptance.

Secretary to Government of Yobe State, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali and Director General of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Alhaji Yakubu Ibn Mohammed had in separate correspondences earlier, accepted their choice for the annual awards as joint recipients in the  ‘Public Servant of the year’ award category.

A renowned Diplomat and Chair of the 6th Region African Union Canada and the Americas, who works as Policy Advisor on Diaspora Matters at the African Union Headquarters, Amb. Macaulay Onyekachi Kalu, has also expressed appreciation for his choice as Distinguished Nigerian Diaspora Leader of the year and pledged full participation at the annual event.

Similarly, the National President, Sports writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Sir Honour Kuru Sirawoo, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Rivers State, will grace the occasion and accept the award of ‘DAILY ASSET Sportsman of the YEAR’.

“Permit me to seize this opportunity to commend in-depth news presentation, analytical features, critical opinion, sports reports, newspaper layout/style of your media. Please keep up the flame,” Sirawoo said in his letter of acceptance to the Management of Asset Newspapers Ltd about the paper’s performance.

Other awardees had earlier confirmed their participation at the event.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Dr Cletus Akwaya in a statement said the theme of this event was deliberately chosen to focus on the critical issues of insecurity, peace and development, which according to him are issues of the moment.

“As a newspaper, we are willing to join the collective search for solutions to our national challenges and a discussion of these issues can never be too much especially, if geared towards proffering lasting solutions,” Akwaya a former Commissioner of Information in Benue state, said in the statement.
