Chief Humphrey Anumodu, an aspirant of the Labour Party in the upcoming Governorship election in Imo state has been found dead in his house.

Anumodu, a native of Mbieri Ancient Kingdom of Imo state reportedly died in his house in Lagos after returning from a meeting in Abuja.

A source said that he was billed to return to Abuja on Saturday with a document he forgot when he suddenly lost consciousness in his Lagos residence on Friday around 5:30 PM.

The Network gathered that frantic efforts by doctors to save the situation did not yield much result as he died by 5:30 pm.

“His death came as a shock. He had a meeting in Abuja on Friday. He went to Lagos with the intention to return on Saturday, I think to pick a document.

“Sadly, he lost consciousness in his house in Lagos. Doctors were called in but the oxygen they implanted on him could not save the day as his passed on.”

The source said It was gathered that the late multi billionaire politician had paid the sum of N25million for Labour Party’s Governorship form for the Nov. 11, 2023 Gubernatorial contest.

He was also said to have bought vehicles for the 27 local government chairmen of the Party ahead of the Imo State Gubernatorial election scheduled for November, 2023.

Anumudu, a respected legal luminary and an astute politician was also the Chief Executive Officer of Globe Motors.

He has been contesting the governorship position of Imo State since 1998 and was indeed the Zenith Labour Party’s governorship candidate of the party in the state in 2019.
