BREAKING: Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) DG Submits Letter of resignation to Tinubu

The Director General (DG) of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ahmed Rufai Abubakar has resigned.

Ahmed Rufai Abubakar tendered his resignation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He was appointed as the substantive Director General for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.

Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, a retired career Foreign Service officer, had before his appointment in 2018, served as Senior Special Assistant to the President (SSAP) on Foreign Affairs/International Relations.

Abubakar had extensive experience working with the United Nations in peace support operations, mediation processes, preventive diplomacy, and good offices, as well as the promotion of good governance and respect for the rule of law and human rights. (Federal radio Corporation of Nigeria)
