CAPTAIN TO MAJOR WRITTEN PROMOTION EXAMINATION 2023 ENDS ON A HIGH NOTE AS COMMANDER TRAINING AND DOCTRINE COMMAND, NIGERIAN ARMY ORGANIZES COCKTAIL IN HONOUR OF THE CANDIDATES

As part of the activities to climax the maiden edition of Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination Direct Regular Commission (CMWPE DRC) 2023, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) organized a cocktail party to commemorate the successful conduct of the examination at Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) Benin, Edo State.

In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour , His Excellency the Executive Governor of Edo State Mr Godwin Obaseki ably represented by the Deputy Governor Edo State, His Excellency Rt Hon /Comrade Philip Shaibu heartily congratulated the candidates for the maiden edition of CMWPE DRC 2023. He described the exam as something that come to stay in Benin, Edo State which is known to be the heartbeat of Nigeria. Governor Obaseki further stated that the Nigerian Army (NA) is a very disciplined and professional organization, and noted that the good people of Edo state remained proud and committed to maintaining the cordial relationship that exists between the NA and the state. Furthermore, Governor Obaseki applauded the NA for professionalism and security support to the state particularly the recent incident of kidnapping in the state.

While appreciating His Excellency Governor Obaseki and the good people of Edo state for their unquantifiable support to the Nigerian Army School of Support and Transport and other formations and units in Edo state, the Exam President and Commander TRADOC NA Maj Gen Stevenson Olabanji stated that the Exam venue was carefully selected for the good relationship the state has with the Nigerian army. Gen Olabanji described that “relationship is the elixir that binds human beings together, it is something that must be cultivated”. He also applauded Governor Obaseki and the entire people of Edo state for the wonderful relationship built over time with the NA.

He reiterated that the initiative behind this Exam was to bridge the gaps observed in professional military education and to add another skill set to the officers for them to be able to operate seamlessly with others both within and outside the Nigerian Army. He added that officers must find ways and means to continue to develop their skills to contain the contemporary security challenges. Gen Olabanji enjoyed officers collaborating with other security agencies in their various Areas of Operations to ensure that the security challenges facing the country at the moment are surmounted.

The event was attended by the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Senior Officers serving and retired, Army Headquarters Representatives, Members of the Examination Panel and Directing Staff, Heads of Security Agencies, Edo state House Assembly members, and other Invited Guests.
