In a statement issued on Saturday by its National Secretary, Comrade Olufemi Lawson, the pro-democracy group said the award, conferred by the Presidency’s Bureau of Public Service Reform as part of activities marking the 2026 Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series and Awards in commemoration of the United Nations Public Service Day, was well deserved.

According to the group, Dr. Ajulo has over the years demonstrated uncommon courage, integrity and dedication to the promotion of the rule of law, human rights and democratic ideals, both as a legal practitioner and now as the Chief Law Officer of Ondo State.

“The Campaign for Democracy is delighted that one of Nigeria’s foremost legal minds and public servants is being honoured for his outstanding contributions to institutional reforms and service delivery. This recognition is not only a personal achievement for Dr. Ajulo but also an affirmation of the enduring values of integrity, accountability and excellence in public service,” the statement read.

The organisation noted that at a time when Nigerians are yearning for leaders who are guided by principle and committed to national development, Ajulo’s career trajectory remains an inspiration to younger generations and public office holders alike.

CD further observed that the award should serve as an impetus for the Ondo State Attorney General to remain steadfast in his advocacy for justice and the protection of the rights of the people.

“We urge Dr. Ajulo to continue in his commitment to public service delivery, integrity, human rights advocacy and the quest for justice. We are confident that he will continue to deploy his vast experience, intellect and patriotic zeal towards strengthening democratic institutions and advancing the welfare of the people,” the group stated.

The Campaign for Democracy also expressed optimism that the recognition would encourage more public officials to embrace transparency, accountability and selfless service as indispensable ingredients for national development.

Dr. Ajulo is scheduled to receive the award on June 23, 2026, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, during the Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series and Awards organised to commemorate the United Nations Public Service Day.
