Dr. Monica Eimunjeze has been appointed the Acting Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Mrs. Eimunjeze was the most senior Director of NAFDAC as at the time of her appointment by the Federal Government.
Her appointment as acting Director General (DG) to lead the agency followed the expiration of the tenure of the former DG whose tenure ended 4th November, 2022.
Dr. Monica was the Director, Registration and Regulatory Affairs at the agency. She is a renowned pharmacist and has served in NAFDAC for over ten years.
She graduated as a pharmacy student in 1986 from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Dr. Monica Eimunjeze has served as the Technical Assistant to the Director-General of NAFDAC and as the Director, Drug Evaluation and Research.
She is married to businessman, Mr. Victor Eimunjeze and they are blessed with children. She hails from the Tiv tribe of Benue State.
Her appointment took effect from the 12th of November, 2022.
