Dunamis Church Collapses In Benue, kills pastor, Injures Four

One of the branches of  Dunamis International Gospel Center located at Mission Ward North Bank in Makurdi, Benue State capital, has collapsed.

The Network gathered that a pastor attached to the church was killed while four members sustained  serious degree of injuries.

It was gathered that the church collapsed on Monday as four people said to be praying with the pastor in the church sustain injuries after the building collapsed on them.

An eyewitness who spoke with newsmen in Makurdi, said as soon as they heard the collapse of the building, they stormed the area in an attempt to rescue worshippers.

The source added that it took some minutes before they could rescue the victims.

“However, four people were injured and one person we later understand to be the pastor was found dead,”  the eyewitnes”.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bartholomew Onyeka, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday in Makurdi.

According to CP Onyeka, the building actually collapsed as stated.

“Something like that happened, just one person died in the process.

“You know when debris falls on people like that, the immediate reaction is what happens to the victims.

“So, people who rushed there were able to rescue four people; unfortunately, one person died. The injured persons are responding to treatment in a hospital where they were taken to,” he said.
