Ecstasy is a state of being carried away by overwhelming emotion*. It is a transportation of the soul to a momentary experience of bliss even in this cold hard world as ours. It is what listening to Billy Joel’s ‘Piano Man’ on a Sunday morning does to me or savouring the heavenly inspired ‘Ballade Pour Adeline’ by Richard Clayderman that is the signature tune in the Fiji elevators installed at the Area 11 Sahad Stores, Abuja. And thanks always to the accuracy of the Shazam music app for that one.

So what gives you the ecstasy? Is it music, drugs, love, revenge, choice alcoholic drink, a gourmet meal, freedom or coffee? The list is endless and sometimes priceless, especially when you can’t be normal again after an engagement. But what is normal?

Love and music will constantly top my list of my ecstatic catalysts. Having loved many women and married only one, I can tell that love is indeed a good dose but why it is so fleeting, I don’t know.

But permit me the privilege of sharing that anything that connects me to the knowledge that the creator of the heavens, the earth and the sustainer of the universe, loves me unconditionally is my Epiphany. He set me right with Himself by the life and death of the Lord and Master, Jesus Christ and has given me the freedom to become anything to express His pre-planned manifestation in this earthly dimension like no one will ever do. This is my Epiphany that always gives me my Ecstasy. That’s where I draw my confidence, strength and conviction to do and say anything. Despite many regrets and mistakes along the journey, it couldn’t have been better because I know that I am driven by the greatest force in the universe. It is the power of love. It can never fail!

As we enter 2024, may we be reminded that Ecstasy is Epiphany!
