The Edo State Cricket Association will on Saturday, July 25, 2026, host the Head Coach and High Performance Manager of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Steve Mangongo, during an official working visit aimed at strengthening cricket development in the state.

According to the association, the visit will feature a series of technical engagements, training sessions and facility inspections designed to enhance the state’s high-performance cricket programme.

Activities will begin with a technical meeting involving administrative officers, coaches, umpires and groundsmen at 10:00 a.m. at the High Performance Office, Edo Boys High School, Ugbowo, Benin City.

Mangongo will thereafter supervise high-performance training and skills development sessions for the Senior Men’s and Under-19 Men’s teams at 11:00 a.m., before conducting a similar session for the Senior Women’s and National Under-19 Women’s teams at 2:00 p.m.

As part of the visit, the NCF High Performance Manager will inspect key cricket development facilities, including the Cricket High Performance Centre at Edo Boys High School, the High Performance Indoor Cricket Centre Project, the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Cricket at Iyoba College, and the designated male and female guest houses.

The Edo State Cricket Association said the visit underscores its commitment to promoting excellence, professionalism, hard work and ethical values in cricket, while further strengthening its partnership with the Nigeria Cricket Federation to develop the sport at both grassroots and elite levels.
