…Recommends State’s Health Insurance Plans

The Edo State Government has urged residents in the state to subscribe for the State Health Insurance package, which will make them spend less in accessing healthcare services.

The Director General, Edo Health Insurance Commission, Dr. Rock Amegor, disclosed this while addressing executive members of the Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during a sensitization of key stakeholders, in Benin City.

He said the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme was designed to accommodate different classes of persons in the state, noting, “The Equity Health plan was specifically designed to meet the health insurance needs of the vulnerable persons and people living below the poverty line in the society. The Student Health Plan is designed for students in tertiary institutions in the state.

“The Formal and Informal Health Insurance Plan is designed for the public sector and the informal sector respectively. The Enhanced Private Health Insurance Plan is meant for those who desire and are able to afford a more robust health plan.”

Amegor noted that residents of the state who enroll for the health insurance stand to benefit from the different plans, including the opportunity to spend less for healthcare services.

According to him, “When you buy a health insurance policy, your life becomes seamless, which saves you from out-of-pocket spending on medical bills. The scheme is transparent, inclusive and community-driven.”

He urged the party leaders to mobilize members of the party to take advantage of the laudable health reforms of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration.
