The Edo State Government (EDSG), has commenced enrollment for its Free Health Insurance Scheme for Pensioners. This was made known through a Government Special Announcement issued by the state government on January 12, 2024 in Benin City and made available to Crossfire Reports’
The announcement said, “In fulfillment of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s promise to prioritize the health needs of retired citizens of Edo State during the flag-off ceremony of the free health insurance scheme for pensioners, enrollment for the scheme has commenced” .
The announcement further said that the enrollment will take place in the under listed locations as follows:
“Attached is the timetable for the enrollment: locations, dates and time;
1. OREDO: Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th January, 2024, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Observer Newspaper Compound, Airport road, Benin City. Time: 9am to 5pm.
2. IKPOBA OKHA:Wednesday 17th January, 2024, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Observer Newspaper Compound, Airport road, Benin City. Time: 9am to 5pm.
3. EGOR:Thursday 18th January 2024, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Observer Newspaper compound, Airport road, Benin City, Time: 9am to 5pm.
4. ORHIONMWON, OVIA SOUTH-WEST, UHUNMWODE and OVIA NORTH-EAST: Friday 19th January, 2024, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Observer Newspaper Compound, Benin City. Time: 9am to 5pm.

3. OWAN WEST: Wednesday 17th January 2024, Etsako West Local Government Council Hall, Auchi, Edo State. Time: 5am to 9am.

NOTE:
1. Edo State non-indigene Pensioners have been added to Oredo LGA.
2. All pensioners are required to write down their Full Names, Date of Birth, Phone Number and Residential Address on a piece of paper and bring it to the venue.
3. This exercise is exclusively for Edo State Government Pensioners.
The enrolment of Local Government Pensioners will be announced at a later date.
