The Edo State House of Assembly has reconvened to attend to pressing matters affecting the state.
At the sitting, the House received four letters from the Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo.
The letters include:
1. Thirty copies of the Year 2025 Supplementary Appropriation Bill.
2. A request for the confirmation of the Chairman and Directors of the Ecological Funds and Management Commission, led by Dr. Blessing Agbonmere.
3. A request for the confirmation of the Chairman and members of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission, led by Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye.
4. A request for the confirmation of a Commissioner Designate, Mr. Omon Anaboh.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, committed the letters to the appropriate committees for necessary legislative action and directed that the committees report back to the House as soon as possible.
Also, at plenary, the House adopted its Business Calendar for the second quarter of the Third Session of the 8th Assembly.
Presenting the calendar, the Majority Leader, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu, explained that the House would sit for 20 days in October, 20 days in November, and 17 days in December — making a total of 57 sitting days for the quarter.
He further noted that when the sitting days in the first quarter are added, the total for the session would amount to 126 days.
The House subsequently adopted the business calendar.
The plenary was adjourned to Tuesday, October 7th, following a motion for adjournment moved by Hon. Ojie Eugene Inegbeboh and seconded by Hon. Sunny Ojiezele.
