Favour Ashe finish top in MTN CHAMPS 100m despite late arrival

Nigeria’s 100m renowned sub 10 seconds finisher, Favour Ashe won gold in the MTN CHAMPS Season 3 finals in Uyo on Thursday evening.

Favour Ashe arrived Uyo barely 24 hours before the race and said he needed more time to rest for a better result. Favour flee into Uyo from Abuja where he was expected to join Nigeria contingent for World Relay in China from May 2025.

Favour finished the 100m in 10.20 seconds and assured fans of a better result in the coming events, including the Olympic in 2028. He was followed by Augustine Ezeuruike, 10:48 secs, Silver and Edesiri Amreremenore finished 10:63 sec for the Bronze medal .

“I was expecting a faster time because I was doing well in the training. This is a warm-up for me. Bigger competitions are expected in Europe and World Meet.”
