Police in Enugu State have gunned down four of the hoodlums believed to have carried out the attack on two polling units in Akpugo, Nkanu Local Government Area of the state.

According to a reliable source said that the police confronted the escaping hoodlums and demobilized a Hyundai vehicle with which they operated.

News Express had earlier reported an attack on two polling stations in Akpugo during which vehicles were set on fire.

There was heavy shooting at the polling centres as the invading gunmen dispersed voters.

Enugu State conducted its local government elections across the 17 council areas of the state.

The exercise was generally peaceful apart from the Akpugo Gunmen attack.
