Amidst the raging disagreements beteeen the Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu and his Principal, the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor has sent out a warm congratulatory message to his deputy in a signed press statement made available to Crossfire Reports on Friday, 2nd December, 2023.
HAPPY 54TH BIRTHDAY TO RT. HON. COMRADE PHILIP SHAIBU
The message reads: “I congratulate my brother, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, on his 54th birthday.”
“I thank him immensely for his support in the course of our drive for the development of our State in the last seven years.
“I also acknowledge the energy and vigour he has brought to bear as this administration embarked on the onerous task of bringing transformational change and development to Edo State.
“Alongside making these contributions to this administration, he has remained an exemplary husband, father and a great family man.

It will be recalled that Philip Shaibu declared his intention to run for the office of Edo State Governor inder the playform of ghe People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2024 Gubernatorial election of Edo State scheduled for November, 2024, on the 27th of November, 2023.
The deputy governor, who made his declaration at the Bishop Kelly Centre, Benin, said he is “a home boy” who feels the pain of the people, urging the electorate and party members to back his ambition.
