Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, Kadunana State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa and Senator Sunday Katung all joined the people of Southern Kaduna at the Kafanchan Township Stadium to celebrate the Southern Kaduna Cultural Festival yesterday, 30th of December, 2023 in Kaduna State.
A statement on the Facebook page of Governor Douye Diri said, the festival featured cultural dances and displays by different community groups across the senatorial district.
“Today, I joined my Brother-Governor, Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna State, a former governor of the state, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, my dear friend and brother, Senator Sunday Katung, and the people of Kaduna South to celebrate the Southern Kaduna Cultural Festival.
“The event, which brought together the 12 LGAs of Kaduna South Senatorial District, was held at the Kafanchan Township Stadium in the ancient town of Kafanchan.
“The festival featured cultural dances and displays by different community groups across the senatorial district.
“As a friend of Southern Kaduna, I was indeed happy to be a part of the cultural celebration.
“The festival showcases and reinforces the unity, oneness, cultural bonds and the need for peaceful co-existence in Southern Kaduna.
“On behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State, I commended the government of Kaduna State and particularly, the people of Southern Kaduna for fostering unity despite their diversity.
“Peace has a priceless value. I, therefore, encouraged the people, and indeed Nigerians, to strive at all times to emphasise the values that bring us together rather than the ones that divide us.
“We must maintain the bonds of unity knowing that we were divinely brought together in the geographical entity known as Nigeria.
“I commend my Brother-Governor Uba Sani for providing the right leadership that is bearing fruit in unifying the people of the state and Southern Kaduna.
