…Urge him to also apologize to Jonathan and Diri
The President of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, Prof. Benjamin Okaba has decried the politics of backstabbing and disrespect to constituted socio-cultural authorities, describing it as counterproductive.
The President of the umbrella body of the Ijaw Nation stated this while responding to Mr. George Turnah who was on an apology visit to him, Monday night, at his private residence in Yenagoa.
Prof. Okaba who reiterated his commitment to always defend the Ijaw Nation and her strategic interest at all times, no matter the cost, disclosed that he holds no grudge against anybody, including those who have been uncharitable in conduct and remarks against him and the Ijaw Nation.
The Ijaw National Leader, while urging Mr. Turnah to also visit Former President Jonathan and Sen. Douye Diri to apologise to them, hinted that the virtue of genuine apology is strength rather than weakness.
Speaking earlier, Mr. George Turnah pointed out that he decided to visit Prof. Okaba to apologize to him and the Ijaw Nation for his recent uncharitable actions and inactions which were termed anti-ijaw.
Highpoint of the visit was the kneeling down of Mr. George Turnah and his presentation of apology drink to Prof. Benjamin Okaba.
