A Delta State All Progressives Party, APC,  Chieftain, Chief Benson Oni Obrogo has written a letter of refutal and disclaimer regarding a petition written against former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in which his name appeared as a signatory.

In the said letter of refutal and disclaimer addressed to the Chairman of the Delta State APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie, Chief Oni Obrogo said for the records and avoidance of doubt, he was not privy to any meeting, discussion, or deliberation where any such petition was conceived, drafted, or adopted.

Chief Oni Obrogo further stated that, at no time did he grant permission for his name to be included as a signatory, nor did he consent, either orally or in writing, to be part of any group or faction endorsing or submitting such a petition.

Chief Oni Obrogo said the said petition against Senator Ovie Omo-Agege titled, “PETITION BY CONCERNED LEADERS AND ELDERS OF DELTA STATE APC TO THE STATE CHAIRMAN, ELDER OMENI SOBOTIE AGAINST SEN. OVIE OMO-AGEGE…”, was a willful act of defamation, and he will not hesitate to seek legal redress to protect his name and reputation if his name was not retracted from all versions of the petition, both in circulation and on record, with immediate effect.

Refutal of Involvement and Disclaimer Regarding Petition Against Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege

Dear Sir,

My attention has been drawn to a petition titled “PETITION BY CONCERNED LEADERS AND ELDERS OF DELTA STATE APC TO THE STATE CHAIRMAN, ELDER OMENI SOBOTIE AGAINST SEN. OVIE OMO-AGEGE…” which was published and recently submitted to your office and circulated across APC social media platforms. To my utmost shock and dismay, I observed that my name has been listed among the signatories to the said document.

I wish to categorically state, for the record and for the avoidance of doubt, that I was not privy to any meeting, discussion, or deliberation where any such petition was conceived, drafted, or adopted. At no time did I grant permission for my name to be included as a signatory, nor did I consent, either orally or in writing, to be part of any group or faction endorsing or submitting such a petition.

This inclusion of my name without my knowledge or consent is not only false, mischievous, and misleading, but also a direct assault on my integrity, personal principles, and political values. I consider it a deliberate act of misrepresentation and a gross abuse of trust, clearly aimed at dragging my name into a controversy that I had no part in initiating or supporting.

I hereby completely and unequivocally dissociate myself from the said petition and any contents therein. I also demand that my name be retracted from all versions of the petition, both in circulation and on record, with immediate effect. Any further use of my name in connection with this petition or similar correspondence will be regarded as a willful act of defamation, and I shall not hesitate to seek legal redress to protect my name and reputation.

I remain a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), committed to the unity, discipline, and progress of our great Party. I urge you, sir, and the State Working Committee, to take note of this disclaimer and ensure that it is duly recorded and acted upon.

Thank you for your attention and anticipated cooperation.

Yours faithfully,

Chief Benson Oni Obrogo.
