IPAC Lauds Ikpeazu For Enhancing Security In Abia

Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governor of Abia State has said his administration has set the state on the right track as the narratives of the state are changing for the better.

The Governor stated this when he received in audience members of the Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, Abia State chapter led by the Chairman, Hon Ceekay Igara at the Government House, Umuahia, on Thursday.

Ikpeazu said that though his government had not done everything, it certainly had recorded bold achievements in various sectors of the state economy including the SME sector,ease of doing business and direct foreign investments, among others.

He promised that his government will remain tenacious in completing its ongoing projects, as well as open new vistas.

Ikpeazu also stated that the NEWMAP projects for the reconstruction of Ngwa Road, Ohanku and Uratta were on course, while the State Government is determined to fix Port Harcourt Road, having completed drainage works on the road.

The Abia Chief Executive noted that Abia is blessed with great men and women who have continued to make their marks in various fields of endeavor and wondered why some desperate persons have continued demarketing the state for selfish political reasons.

Earlier in his speech, the State Chairman of IPAC, Hon Ceekay Igara thanked Governor Ikpeazu for providing the platform for IPAC to interface with his government and for the enhanced security in the state and urged him to sustain it.

The IPAC chairman informed the Governor that the state will be hosting the South East IPAC to a 2-day retreat during which they will be inspecting ongoing and completed projects by his government.

Igara added that he has formed a think-tank to support the development of the state through the help of Abians in the Diaspora.

DAILY POST reports that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Professor ACB Agbazuere, the State Chairman of PDP Rt Hon Asiforo Okere, Commissioner for Information Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Mrs Ngozi Okechukwu amongst other government functionaries were present during the visit.
