Is Mel Gibson, 59, about to become a father for the 9th time?

It looks like Mel Gibson may be adding another child to his already impressive brood, with the Hollywood actor reported to be expecting his ninth child with much younger girlfriend Rosalind Ross.

The 59-year-old Brave Heart star has been dating the 24-year-old equestrian star turned aspiring film writer since July and the pair are currently in Sydney while he films Hacksaw Ridge.

‘Rosey suddenly gave up drinking about a month ago,’ a source tells New Idea magazine. ‘And while she won’t admit she’s pregnant, she’s not denying it either.’

 

It looks like it might be the first of many for the pair, who met when Rosalind applied for a job at Mel’s production company Icon, with the source continuing: ‘[Rosey’s] always said that she wanted to be a young mum and have three or four children.’

Father of eight Mel has seven children from his marriage to ex-wife Robyn, the eldest three – Hannah, followed by twins Edward and Christian – were born in Australia.

He also has three other sons by Robyn; Louis, William, Milo and Thomas, the latter of whom was just 10 when the pair decided to officially split.

After Mel and Robyn divorced in 2006 following 26 years of marriage, he then enjoyed a relationship with Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva, 45, who formerly dated Timothy Dalton.

The pair welcomed a daughter Lucia together in 2009, before splitting a year later amid controversy.

The film star and director touched down in Sydney a few months ago while he films the World War II epic – which is expected to kick off in earnest in October.
The actor generated headlines a few weeks ago when he was alleged to have pushed a female photographer and subjected her to a verbal tirade outside a Sydney cinema – however, Police declined o lay charges.

New South Wales Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday that no action will be taken.

‘The matter was reported appropriately and investigated thoroughly and based on the evidence gathered, at this stage, no formal action will be taken,’ a spokesperson said.

Kristi Miller, the female photographer at the centre of the controversy, had stood by allegations that the actor pushed her during a verbal tirade, on August 22.

The mother-of-three claimed to have been berated by Gibson as he left the Palace Verona Cinema on Oxford Street in Paddington, Sydney, with girlfriend Rosalind.

‘There is no suggestion that what this woman suggested had occurred, ever happened,’ his lawyer Christopher Murphy said.
