Troops of the Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully repelled a mid night attack on Mafa local government area in the North Eastern Borno State, Zagazola learnt.

It was gathered that scores of armed terrorists, suspected to be members of the Islamic State of the West African Province(ISWAP), stormed the Borno State town in gun trucks and motorcycles, began the attack with heavy gunfire against the troops.

An Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, a Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad that the troops thwarted the terrorists’ incursion in a fierce gun battle.

The sources said “They attempted to attack us through Charly Papa 1, but we are able to foil their evil plans. The terrorists were pounded severely.

“They were forced to retreat and fled, abandoning their evil mission. No casualty on the side of the troops”, said the sources.
