The family of late Senator Lawrence Ewrhudjakpor has formally made public that, effective from Monday, 15th December 2025, all mourning activities and condolence visits to the family will henceforth take place at the Late Deputy Governor’s country home in Ofoni, in keeping with its tradition.
The statement, which was signed by Mr. Francis Ewrhudjakor, on behalf of the Head of the Ewrhudjakpor family adviced associates, friends and member’s of the public to take note of this change.
“In keeping with tradition, the immediate family of His Excellency, the Late Senator Lawrence Ewrhudjakpor wishes to formally inform the public that, effective Monday, 15th December 2025, all mourning activities and condolence visits to the family will henceforth take place at the Late Deputy Governor’s country home in Ofoni.
“Associates, friends and members of the public should take note of this.
The statement added that, following the sudden demise of the Late Deputy Governor, the family had since made arrangements for an autopsy to be conducted. This is contrary to an earlier statement by the Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri that the state government would carry out an autopsy.
The family said the outcome of the autopsy will be communicated to the immediate family, after which the government and the general public will be duly informed as appropriate.
“Following the sudden demise of the Late Deputy Governor, the family had since made arrangements for an autopsy to be conducted. The outcome of the autopsy will be communicated to the immediate family, after which the government and the general public will be duly informed as appropriate.
“The Ewrhudjakpor family expresses profound gratitude to all well-wishers for the overwhelming show of sympathy, solidarity, and condolences received so far.
“We humbly request continued prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the strength and fortitude of the family to bear this irreparable loss.
