NEMA boss tasks staff on professionalism, dedication to duty

Mr Mustapha Ahmed, Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has called on the agency’s staff to be professional and uphold excellence in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the advice at a sensitisation programme organised for staff on the directorate cadre on the agency’s SERVICOM Charter, on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the event is aimed at building the capacity of the senior officers as they are the lead responders in disaster management.

The director-general said that the training underscores the agency’s commitment to upholding values, excellence, professionalism and dedication which has been synonymous to the agency.

“Together, we form a collective force that prides itself in ensuring the safety and well-being of our nation’s citizens during times of crisis and emergencies.

“This gathering demonstrates our unwavering dedication towards consistently improving our services.

“The NEMA SERVICOM service charter is a document that defines the parameters of the service delivery we strive to achieve as an organisation.

“It embodies our commitment to providing efficient and effective emergency management services to all those who rely on us in times of need.

“By increasing our awareness and understanding of the charter, we strengthen our capability to deliver services efficiently with utmost dedication and professionalism,” he said.

Also speaking, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, National Coordinator, SERVICOM, called on the participants to ensure they provide quality services to Nigerians at their respective duty posts.

She said that understanding the SERVICOM service charter would also equip them with necessary knowledge on how to handle emergencies effectively and making meaningful impacts to victims of disasters.
