A women empowerment and rights activist, Mrs Mabel Onwuemele has taken her message of assistance and help to the less privileged to the Byazhin Community in the Kubwa area of Abuja, the Nation’s Capital.

At the empowerment Programme held at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Byazhin Regional headquarter, Kubwa Abuja, Mrs. Onwuemele who leads a Non-Governmental Organization, Women of Purpose Development Foundation, said they had empowered women, widows and the less privileged in the past and would continue to do so.

Mrs Onwuemele explained that her passion for philanthropy could be traced to her large heart and feelings for the less privileged in the community and she stressed the need for the society to extend the hands of love and care to the poor.

” as a child, my father and mother never owned a house or a car. I had to do some jobs to support my family because I came from a very poor background where my first school fees of thirty-two thousand naira then at Delta State University, Abraka was contributed by the community members where we lived.

” ever since then I promised to make an impact on my society and assist the less privileged, contribute my quota to developing the society wherever I find myself even though am not rich and having enough”.

She maintained that society must do its best in alleviating the suffering of the poor.

The Senior Pastor and Regional Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Region 33, Byazhin Kubwa, Abuja, Roland Olumide explained that the church in it’s little way, has supported the less privilege as commanded by Jesus Christ who himself feed five thousand people on an occasion.

Pastor Olumide commended women for their role in caring and providing succour in the society.

“The Bible says we should always give thanks to God and for every child of God, there is hope in every hopeless situation. And that’s why as a church, we don’t joke with women qualities. As a pastor, I am so blessed to have a supportive wife and I know the important role women play in church and the society.

“And what happened today is a demonstration of what God is doing through women. The women and church have played important roles in making the less privilege and the body of Christ and the society to be taken care of ” he said.

Our correspondent reports that a total of sixteen women were empowered with tailoring machines and related equipments as well as cash gifts for some of them to start up small businesses .
