After losing to Kenya and a chance in the semifinals, Nigeria’s Men’s Cricket team defeated Botswana by 44 runs on Thursday in Harare.
Nigeria who is now playing her remaining matches for ranking and ODI status posted 166 runs and lost 8 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Vincent Adewoye and Sesan Adedeji recorded top scores of 42 and 41 runs respectively.
In the second inning, Nigerian bowlers gave a tidy performance with captain Sylvester Okpe taking one wicket while Joshua Asia dismissed 4 opponents.
Nigerians controlled the game by keeping Botswana’s score at 122 at the end of 20 overs. Joshua Asia won the Player of the Match Award.
Nigeria’s next play-off match is against Uganda on Saturday 4th October 2025.
