Nigerians Appoint Ministers For President Buhari’s Cabinet

President Muhammadu Buhari postponed selecting a cabinet for two months, until September.

With each week going by without a fully operational administration, the pressure on Buhari to act is increasing. Some angry Nigerians have even continued to liken Buhari’s government to a millipede.

However, even though Buhari has accepted to be ‘Baba Go Slow’, he said that his government might be slow, but steady. The leader of the country had earlier said he was in no hurry to nominate ministers, and wondered why there was so much anxiety over the make up of his cabinet.

As things stand, nobody really knows who will make the cabinet. There are a lot of speculations and rumours, but given Buhari’s ability to surprise, there is nothing certain yet.

Meanwhile, Naij.com team proposed to its readers to pick up the dream team to rule Nigeria. We were trying to simplify the task by listing 15 names, but Nigerians moved ahead the list.

Among the names Nigerians chose for ministerial appointment, the most popular were Babatunde Fashola, a former governor of Lagos state, Rotimi Amaechi, who was the director general of Buhari campaign organisation and an ex-governor of Rivers state as well as Tunde Bakare, a popular Lagos based pastor.

Probable Buhari’s ministers: Fashola, Amaechi, Soyinka.

Kayode Fayemi, a former governor of Ekiti state, who is supposed to be the minister of commerce is also among the favourites.

As in many reports, the name of Obi Ezekwesili, the leader of #BBOG campaigners also appeared. She is predicted to head the ministry of education for one more time.

Two names, however, caused amazement as they are not predicted in any lists circulating online: Rauf Aregbesola, Osun state governor and Wole Soyinka, the Nobel Prize laureate.
