NLC FCT Council Declares Mass Protest; Directs Over 30,000 Workers to Converge Tuesday ‎

‎ABUJA – The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) FCT Council has officially ordered a massive mobilization of its members for a protest.

‎The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) FCT Council called on its affiliate unions to mobilize workers for the mass protest scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, citing unmet demands and unresolved issues affecting workers’ welfare.

‎The protest, expected to draw 30,000 workers, aims to draw attention to workers grievances and push for concrete actions from the government

‎In a directive issued late Saturday by the Council Chairperson, Comrade Stephen Knabayi, affiliate unions were provided with specific “minimum quotas” for member participation to ensure a significant turnout at the nation’s capital.

‎The council has designated Labour House as the primary assembly point.

‎Workers are expected to gather as early as 7:00 AM to commence the demonstration.

‎Participants have been instructed to appear in their respective union attires to demonstrate a unified and organized front.
