Ebonyi State Governor, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru has approved the payment of 75, 000 Naira minimum wage to Civil Servants in the State.
Governor Nwifuru announced this shortly after a Holy Mass at Government House Chapel, Abakaliki on Sunday.
The Governor said the decision followed careful review of the current economic situation in the Country especially as it affects the workforce.
According to the Governor, the least paid Civil Servant on grade level 2 will enjoy full minimum wage of 75, 000 while from grade level 3 and above will get incremental of 40, 000 across board.
The Governor announced that implementation of the new minimum wage would commence on Monday October 28, 2024.
Governor Nwifuru also announced the appointment of General Managers to pilot affairs of two major Industries in the State.
The appointees include Dr. Obinna Ezenkwa, Umuoghara Pulverization Plant.
