Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has lauded his counterpart, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, on his giant strides as Governor of the oil rich state, as his administration winds down come May 29 2023.

Obaseki made this remark during a valedictory dinner held in honour of the outgoing Governor, on Sunday May 21 2023, in Asaba, Delta State.

According to Obaseki, “You have played your own part. You have run your own section of the race. People will have their own versions of history but history is history, and history has recorded what you have achieved for your people in Delta State”.

Describing Governor Okowa as a unifier, Obaseki noted that the outgoing Govenor of Delta State played a significant role in the unity which both Edo and Delta States enjoy today.

Obaseki said: “While other regions are pulling apart, you have been a partner in pulling Edo and Delta together again, and that is leadership”.

In view of the forthcoming handover event across the country, various leaders in the country are already preparing ground for a successful handover ceremony. Govenor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State will be joining other Governors in the country to bow out of office as Govenor, on May 29 2023.
