Chief Charles Edosomwan (SAN), the Obasuyi of Ancient Benin Kingdom received an Award from Africa Bar Association and a Presidential handshake on being handed the plaque of the award after being draped with the Medal Of Merit In Leadership of the African Bar Association by His Excellency Dr. McCarthy Chakwera, President of Malawi Monday 8th August, 2022.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan (SAN), has been decorated with the Medal of Merit in Leadership by the African Bar Association (AFBA).

Chief Uwensuyi-Edosomwan, SAN, a former Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, received the award during the opening ceremony of the 2022 annual conference of the AFBA which was held on 8th-10th August 2022, in Lilongwe, Republic of Malawi.

Chief Uwensuyi-Edosomwan award was decorated with the Medal of Merit in Leadership of the African Bar Association by His Excellency Dr McCarthy Chakwera, President of Malawi.

The Award Plaque presented to Chief Charles Edosomwan (SAN) by Africa Bar Association on Monday 8th August, 2022.

The Medal was “…in testimony of your inestimable contribution to the Growth of the African Bar Association as a Member of the Governing Committee and the development of the legal profession in Africa,”

Chief Uwensuyi-Edosomwan has been recognised for his achievements that have extraordinary influence upon the advancement of law and the legal profession.

The AFBA President, Hannibal Uwaifo described Edosomwan and other award recipients as Africa’s good ambassadors and thanked them for their efforts in promoting peace, rule of law and democracy on the continent.

Chief Edosomwan, the Obasuyi of Benin Kingdom who is the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria to be elevated from the University of Benin graduates, identifies hard work, integrity, commitment, dedication to duty and values of honour, as the prerequisite for success in life.
