Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru and the Ogboru political family on Saturday June 10th 2023 stormed Ughelli township stadium for the burial ceremony of late Prince Mike Oghenephikpare Asaboro, the Okpurhe of Iyede (Aka the Bastille, Mike of London Iwhirhi, who died a few months ago.

Speaking during the ceremony, Chief Ogboru in his tribute described late Mike Asaboro as a brother, a friend and a political associate with integrity, with whom he had come a long way and in the year 2001, he sid they were in the struggle to see a better Delta state birthed together and that till his death he remained firm and resolute to that struggle.

Also speaking during the burial ceremony, the Delta Central Senatorial District Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,  APGA in the last general election, Mr. Peters Omaruaye said the late Asaboro is one of the great leaders in the Ogboru political family.

He said he was a man who worked hard in the Ogboru political family to see to the creation of a better Delta State and à that there was no doubt that the sudden death of Asaboro will deeply hurt members of the Ogboru political family and Deltans in general.

Omaruaye said Asaboro was more than a political associate and that over the years, he was with the Ogboru political family and they became like family member and brothers in so many ways.

Mr. Omaruaye described the late Asaboro as a good man who related well with everyone, irrespective of their political or religious affiliation. He stated that both the Asaboro family, Members of the Ogboru political family and the entire state would feel the vacuum that has been left behind by his demise.

In conclusion, Omaruaye expressed hope that God will grant Asaboro’s loved ones the fortitude to bear the sad loss.
