On the 11th November, 2021, I wrote with a headline, “Your Excellency, where are our judges’ official vehicles?.

I stated in the piece that since the 12th day of October, 2021 when my Lords, Hon. Justice Olusola Adetujoye, Hon. Justice Beatrice Segun-Olakojo, Hon. justice Elijah Adewale Taiwo ,Hon. Justice Justice Dr Kareem Adedokun and Hon. Justice Oluwabukola Omolayo Ajadi were sworn-in as judges, they have been carrying out their judicial duties without official vehicles.

It is gratifying to note that his Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State has provided brand new Prado jeeps to our new judges. This is a welcome development and we thank your Excellency for the swift response. It also shows that your Excellency is a listening Governor that is ready to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the governed.

Your Excellency is implored to prioritize the rehabilitation of the Courts, particularly the road networks within the courts. The state of the roads are embarrassingly unbearable for judges, lawyers and litigants!

It is equally important to appeal to your Excellency on the need to put machinery in motion for the appointment of more judges as the number of judges in our courts are grossly inadequate which has made the jobs to be strenuous with cases suffering long adjournment to the detriment of those who desire swift dispensation of Justice.

Once again, we appreciate your Excellency and urge your Excellency to use your good offices to do more for the judiciary.
