The National Leader, Chief Dr. E. K. Clark and the National Executive Committee of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, have extended their heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on the passing of his father, Sir Arthur Okorie Okowa, at the glorious age of 88.

A press release by PANDEF signed by  Hon. Ken Robinson, National Publicity Secretary Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF noted that, Pa Okowa’s death is indeed a great loss, not only to Governor Okowa and his family but to Delta State and the Niger Delta region, especially at this time when his fatherly counsel, guidance and prayers were needed in the Governor’s running of the affairs of Delta State and the South-South Geopolitical Zone as Chairman of South-South Governor’s Forum.

It stated that, Pa Okowa was a great man; a devout Christian, a dedicated teacher, a distinguished community leader and a High Chief of Owa Kingdom. God granted him long life, peace, prosperity, and the unique blessing of giving birth to a child like Governor Okowa who has become a pride of not only the people of Owa Kingdom, Delta State and the Niger Delta region but Nigeria in general.

The statement said that, PANDEF understands the demise of the Governor’s father has, no doubt, left a great void that would be difficult to fill, but urges Governor Okowa to be comforted by the love he shared with his late father. And let the noble life of dedication to excellence, benevolence, and service to God and humanity that the late Pa Okowa led, inspire Governor Okowa to even do more in his service to God and humanity.

In conclusion, PANDEF prayed that God gives the Governor and the entire Okowa family the fortitude to bear the loss, and grant Papa’s noble soul peaceful repose.
