The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), for the Delta Central Senatorial District, Mr. Peters Omaruaye has todsy, December 29th, 2022 consulted with Col. Morris Okoro Ideh (rtd) jp, the Omoto of Ughievwen kingdom and a political leader in the state.
Omaruaye’s achievements received commendation from the political leader when his political ambition took the center stage as his senatorial ambition received the nod of the highly respected chief and political leader in the state.
The senatorial hopeful and front runner told Col. Ideh that his decision to join the race for the Red Chambers to represent Delta Central Senatorial District was after wide consultations with family members, political leaders and ordinary Deltans who had urged him to run for the Senatorial position to avail them of quality and equitable representation.
He said when God’s appointed time comes and the necessary and sufficient conditions emerge, nobody can stop it. He said in the past, he had been called to contest several positions but he had refused because God’s time had not come. Omaruaye stated that as we speak, everybody wants to associate with APGA because Chief Ogboru and a line of Men of character are there and the entire opposition plus so much more is convalescing into the All Progressive Grand Alliance today.
Speaking further, the senatorial hopeful informed Col. Ideh that his candidacy is not for APGA as a party but Ughelli South and indeed the entire Delta Central.
He said he deemed it appropriate to consult with Olorogun first and receive his fatherly blessings before others within the LGA. He said, as a father and a previous opposition leader in the state, who has been in the forefront of the struggle to see a better Delta State, Col. Ideh was a true statesman with genuine concerns for the development and growth of Delta State, and his advise will go a long way to set him on the right path.
Omaruaye in his conclusion said, he was running because he believes in his capacity to initiate laws that will make Delta Central safe, peaceful and to attract investments as well as his ability to equitably distribute this investment and benefits from Government therein.
Responding, Col. Ideh said that Omaruaye has been one of the strong pillars behind the opposition in the state, who he has worked with. He noted that Omaruaye has related well with everybody, no matter the political party one belongs to and so he is a perfect bridge builder to bring unity to the people of Delta Central.
In conclusion, Col. Ideh said that the prayer that Omaruaye requested is a simple one because he deserves it and he has the capacity to deliver. He therefore, prayed that God will see Peters Omaruaye through in his political contest.
